How Do I Care For My Item?
- Hand or machine wash in cold water.
- Hang dry in the shade or inside out for lasting elasticity & vibrancy.
- Can be tumble dried on a low heat setting, but you shouldn't need to use the dryer as the fabric is quick dry.
- Do not bleach, do not iron.
- Avoid contact with rough surfaces - no sitting on velcro or concrete!
- Cold machine wash.
- Line dry in shade.
- Do not bleach, do not tumble dry.
- Do not iron print.
Where are Matcha & Ink products manufactured?
The location of our manufacturing depends on the product. All our activewear is manufactured by a small business in Latvia that pays it's employees fair wages and has excellent working conditions.
The t-shirt range is printed and shipped from Melbourne, Australia using As Colour t-shirt blanks. You can read more about As Colour and their ethical manufacturing standards here. Most As Colour products are ethically manufactured in Bangladesh or China in ethically certified factories, for more information please click the link above.
Will my item look exactly like the product images?
While every effort is made to represent our products accurately, please remember that our products are handmade to order. Each Matcha & Ink product is unique, and this means the print placement may vary slightly from the product photos.
Also, please be aware that the colour you see on your computer monitor will not exactly match the item you receive. Each computer monitor is colour calibrated differently, making it impossible to accurately represent colours when selling online.
Our activewear prints are printed onto white fabric. When the material is overstretched, some white fibres may show through. On most body shapes, this will not be visible if the correct legging size is selected. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your order.
Our Sustainability Policy
I deeply care about the environment and try to run this small business as sustainably as possible.
The inks used in all of our products are water-based pigment inks which are CPSIA compliant, and Oeko-Tex™ certified. This means they are non-toxic and reduce environmental waste.
I am aware of the environmental impact of polyester and am currently trying to work out a way of using recycled polyester in my activewear range.
Most t-shirt colours are 100% cotton with the exception being the marle (heather) textured colours. The cotton is responsibly sourced through the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative). The t-shirt manufacturer, AS Colour, are also members of the Amfori BSCI initiative.
Organic cotton t-shirt options are coming very soon.
Made To Order
Each product is made to order. This ensures we don't use more resources than we require. None of our products end up in landfill due to overproduction.
When you buy from Matcha & Ink you are supporting slow, handmade sustainable fashion.
All Matcha & Ink products are shipped directly to you from the manufacturer. This saves the emissions that would be produced by unnecessary shipping.
The activewear (leggings, shorts, sports bras) is manufactured in Europe and comes directly to you after it is produced, using carbon neutral shipping where possible.
The t-shirts are printed in Melbourne, Australia and ship to you directly using carbon neutral shipping from Australia Post.
I am currently working out a way to offer compostable packaging, but unfortunately this is currently unavailable for all products. For now all soft plastic in the packaging can be recycled through the REDCycle program in Australia by dropping them off with your other soft plastics at bins in your local supermarket. Matcha & Ink is a home-based business. We recycle as much as possible, compost our food waste & use solar power.
For each Matcha & Ink product sold we purchase a tree via our reforestation partners, One Tree Planted. One Tree Planted grow, plant & care for saplings in regions across the world and are a registered 501c3 charity.
During 2020 we are planting trees in areas effected by the recent bushfires.
How Long Before My Item Is Shipped?
All Matcha & Ink products are made to order. This means you need to allow time for your item to be produced before shipping. Please see our production times below.
Leggings, shorts, crop tops: 2-7 business days (more than half of the orders are shipped in 3 days & 90% are shipped in 5 days).
Production of T-shirts takes 2-7 business days.
Will My Item Be Shipped With Tracking?
Out T-shirts are shipped with tracking as they are dispatched from Melbourne.
The activewear leggings, shorts and crop tops are shipped from Europe; tracking is provided only until the item leaves the country. It is possible to purchase worldwide tracked shipping for our other products, but it is not cost effective.
If you are placing a large order, please contact me for a tracked shipping quote.
Expected Delivery Times Australia
T-shirts: We are currently experiencing some delays with production due to a printer hardware upgrade. The current expected delivery time for t-shirts is 8-15 business days when the flat rate shipping option is selected, choose express post and this time reduces to 7-12 business days.
Leggings, Shorts & Sports Bras: Please allow 10-25 business days for your activewear order to arrive from Europe.
The times above are estimates only. Orders shipped in peak shopping times may take longer. We can’t be responsible for delays in shipping as the delay is most often caused by customs.
If you have placed an order for an event or need the item by a specific date please email me as soon as you have placed the order so I can ensure your delivery arrives on time.

Do We Offer Expedited Shipping?
We offer express shipping for our t-shirt range; this option can be selected at checkout.
Express shipping is also available for our activewear, but the cost is prohibitive, as it comes from Europe. Contact me for a quote if you are interested.
How Much Does Shipping Cost?
Shipping is a flat rate $5 fee per item for shipping within Australia. Free shipping is available for orders over $120 (limited time promotion).
The cost of shipping to other countries is usually between $10 & $12, please add your address at checkout to get an exact rate.
If the free shipping promotion is not active and you pay more shipping than you should, contact me & I will refund the difference.
Express shipping of t-shirts costs $10.
Do We Offer Worldwide Shipping?
We ship to most countries except the USA & Canada.
Return, Exchange & Cancellation Questions
How Do I Cancel My Order?
Please contact me within 2 hours of placing your order through our website. After this time production on your item will have started & we are unable to accept cancellations.
Can I Exchange My Item?
I can't accept exchanges as each item is made to order. I do have a hassle free & transparent returns policy. If you would like to exchange an item, I suggest you return it for a refund or store credit and re-purchase the correct one.
How Do I Return An Item?
Australian returns can be easily organised by clicking 'Submit a Return' in the menu or by visiting this link.
If you are returning a product from outside Australia please contact me for details about how to return the item.
Returns can only be accepted within seven days of you receiving delivery of your product.
The return shipping address (within Australia) will be provided to you. You will be responsible for return shipping costs.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
I cannot accept returns for the following reasons:
- Items that have been worn or washed
- You try to return an item after the 7-day window has passed
- Items that are damaged or altered
- Sale items
- You haven't contacted me to organise the return before sending it (& been given the correct shipping address)
- You have returned the item to the sender or sent it back to the return shipping address on the package.
- I don't receive the item. I suggest you send the item back with tracking to ensure it doesn't get lost in the post.
You will receive a full refund (minus shipping) once I receive your returned item.
Please see the size charts before placing your order. Your product will be made to order, so please try to choose the correct size. I am a very small business (it is just me!).
